Does LMS have a future?

Sometime in 2008 it suddenly hit me. It can very well be that after a decade of serving students so well the LMS may no longer be the best platform to support learning. A couple of months later, I read a piece of article on the LMS declining in popularity. And now the video below. I think something like Ning will do a better job in supporting learning.
